You will establish and maintain close working relationships with Client Relationship Managers, Technical Client Managers, Quality Assurance and Development teams to ensure project deadlines are met and any potential issues that affect deadlines being achieved are identified and resolved as quickly as possible.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Write and update customer-facing product documentation for the client’s software suite, which comprises a range of small to large products.
- Use Author-it to deliver technical documentation in Web Help, PDF, Word and HTML Help output formats for a variety of online help, user manuals and API guides.
- Regularly update the Web Help and/or PDF content for each new release or when ad-hoc updates are made.
- Produce release notes to accompany product releases.
- Peer-review documentation produced by the Documentation team and proof read and review documents for other departments.
- Maintain the Author-it templates and fix issues when they arise. Identify and make improvements to the templates to improve efficiency and consistency of style.
- Record product training videos, demos and webinars for internal and external audiences.
- Build knowledge of the client’s products as required. Use this knowledge to explain products in a way that is easy to understand.
- Work closely with the Marketing and Communication team to ensure aligned communications across all channels.
REQUIREMENTS
- Either:
with strong writing skills; or
o An excellent degree in a marketing or writing based discipline combined with a strong interest in and understanding of technology.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience working as a technical writer.
- A strong fundamental understanding of computing. Proficiency in Windows and practical experience of using and understanding SQL/SQL Server is highly desirable.
- Comfortable working with HTML, CSS, Javascript and editing web-based documentation.
- Demonstrable experience of explaining complex functionality in easy to understand terms.
- Author-it experience.
- Proficient in creating product training videos, webinars or training materials.
- Knowledge of trading, specifically in the energy industry.
- Comfortable working with APIs and writing API documentation.
- Suited to working in an agile environment where short turnarounds of documents is the norm.
